Teen Suspect Due In Court For Fatal Shooting Outside Westchester Apartments

A teenager is due to appear in Westchester County Court on Tuesday afternoon after being connected to a shooting outside of The Modern in Mount Vernon.

Mount Vernon resident Tasjawn “Tay” White, 19, was arraigned this week on a murder charge in connection to the fatal shooting of Donovan Brown, 24, on March 14 outside of the recently opened The Modern on Macquesten Parkway.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

According to city officials, Brown was shot and killed at approximately 12:10 a.m. on March 14. White was allegedly with a second man at the time of the fatal shooting. The second suspect remains at large.

Donovan reportedly worked as a lifeguard at the local YMCA. On Monday, White was arraigned on charges that include second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder. He is currently being held at the Westchester County Jail without bail.
